Drowning (Visual Art Piece)

Do any of you ever feel like you’re drowning? Maybe not in a literal sense but rather in a sense of a certain realm in your life. It could be with a relationship, your workplace, a financial situation or even goals you are trying to accomplish. You put so much effort into something and it just seems you are not getting anywhere or you feel like you’re “drowning” never truly progressing to where it is you are trying to go.

drowningHowever, you do reach those moments where the struggle stops. You seem to have a handle on things. Maybe you think those struggles you once had are no more and you finally are to a point where you can start to enjoy whatever it is you had been workin toward. Then, like clockwork, the “drowning” starts right back. You start to question not only yourself but maybe the world. How can this keep happening? How can I continuously be put in this “drowning” situation?

I think it’s important to realize that we all  go through tough periods in our life and just because something doesn’t happen immediately doesn’t mean we should stop trying to stay afloat. I think some of the things we want most in life are the hardest to work for. Even if it appears to others that you are not getting anywhere or are just completely insane (trust me I know the feeling), all that matters in the end is what you know in your heart is the right thing to do.

Keep your head up and stay positive even when times are the toughest for this is where the greatness truly rises. If you want something badly enough, you will continue to push on, even if that means you feel like you are “drowning” at times. I know for myself when it comes for what I want in life either one of two things are going to happen. Either I am going to die of the “drowning” or I am going to learn how to swim.

Until next time my friends,
